  • Project: Tiflomag
  • Client: Krust, Ekaterinburg, Russia
  • Design: Nikita Demidov, Ivan Paramonov
  • Year: 2010

Tiflomag is a player for blind people, it has speech synthesizer and can play text files at a given speed. Compact stereo sound system allows people to listen to audiobooks without headphones at home and outdoors. The casing is curved at the top so it can be held firmly. The curve also helps users to identify the spatial position of the player (top-to-bottom and front-to-rear). Due to the wide base the player stands safely on table.

Keyboard has large buttons that are embossed in Braille notation.

On the left side there is a mini USB socket for charging the device, files uploading and firmware updates. On the right side there is a microphone jack (in addition to built-in microphone) and a headphones jack. On the top there is a SD-card socket. Case dimensions: 180 × 106 × 34 mm.
